Editorial

Q: I have an upcoming album release. Will you review my concert?
A: Musicworks typically reviews festivals and events, but not single concerts. If you have a recording you’d like us to consider for review, send it to us at Att. Reviews at 401 Richmond Street West, suite 358, Toronto, ON, M5V 3A8, CANADA.
 
Q: I want to publish my article in Musicworks. How do I do that?
A: We do not accept complete manuscripts. If you would like to write for us, please send us a pitch, following the guidelines here
 
Q: Do you accept digital downloads for review?
A: A hard copy is always best. Please do send digital downloads so we can determine if we are going to review your work.
 
Q: Do you accept suggestions for book reviews?
A: Yes we do. If the book is related to sound and performance we would love to hear about it. Submit your suggestion here.
 
Q: How do I submit a press release?
A: Send it to us here, or at sound [at] musicworks [dot] ca.
 
Q: How can I find a previously published article?
A: If you are looking for articles published since 2009, try using the “search” field at the top of the website. We will continue to publish content to include all our magazines (we started publishing in 1978!). In the meanwhile, if you’d like more information about any of our articles, contact us!

Q: Do you offer internships?
A: Yes! We love working with people eager to learn about the magazine business. If you think you would like to intern for us, check out our intern information page
 

Circulation

Q: Where can I find Musicworks?
A: Musicworks is on newsstands across Canada, distributed by Magazines Canada. Don’t see it in your local store? Ask for it! You can also order copies of the magazine and CD through our store.
 
Q: How can I subscribe?
A:  You can subscribe by heading to our subscription page
 
Q: Do you offer student subscriptions?
A: We do indeed. Order your subscription today by heading to our student subscription page.
 
Q: How many more issues do I have left in my subscription?
A: You can check your subscription status by clicking "Login" at the top right-hand corner, and then "Manage Your Account". We’re constantly updating this information for you so you’ll always know when it’s time to renew! (And don’t worry: you’ll still get an e-mail from us and a paper renewal notice reminding you it’s time!).
 
Q: I want to give a gift subscription! How do I do that?
A: Head here!
 
Q: What if I want to give CDs or books as a gift? How do I do that?
A: Easy! When you check out, simply enter your gift recipient’s information into the shipping fields, and your information into the billing fields. We’ll get that gift on its way! 
 

Postal Standards and Speed

Q: How long will it take my purchase to arrive? 
A: Well, that depends. If you ordered a new subscription, we'll get our current issue in the mail to you right away. If you renewed your up-to-date subscription, you'll receive your next issue as usual, after we publish it. For everything else, you can expect delivery of your purchase to follow Canada Post standards for lettermail and regular parcels.
 
Canada: 4 business days for something that fits in an envelope, and up to 9 business days for something in a box. 
USA: 6 business days for an envelope, up to 7 days for a box.
International: Between 1 to 6 weeks, depending on weight and destination. 
 
Need it faster? Contact us and we'll top up your postal fee to get it there in a jiffy. 
 

Refund Policy

Q: I have to cancel my subscription. How do I get a refund? 
A: We're sorry to lose you! For paid subscriptions, a prorated refund will be issued for all the remaining copies that have not been mailed at the time of the cancellation. Simply contact us! Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds on any other items or services.
