The first, second, and third-place winners of each contest receive a cash prize and a boost in the pages of Musicworks magazine and on musicworks.ca.

The streetcars of Vienna. A mountain range in Spain. The sweet, lonesome aria of a songbird. These are some of the sounds found in Sonic Geography, our regular essay column. Choose any location—urban or rural, indoors or outside, cacophonous or mysteriously quiet. You have 500 words to describe how sound shapes your experience. Accepted file types: PDF only.
